Thanks for your excellent podcast. Tom’s conclusion is i believe the most important question in Education at the moment – “what is the purpose or goals of Education”. This ties in with Prof Hopkins qualities of leadership, in that the leader needs to set forth a vision for their staff. Also, Prof Hopkins promotes Hattie’s work, but i sent an email to him asking what he thinks of the apparent contradiction of Hattie’s low effect sizes for for the aspects he thinks are important – principal/leadership & Inquiry based learning.
